Israel’s got its sights on southern Lebanon while still pounding Beirut. They’ve been itching for this invasion for months, promising to drag Lebanon back to the Stone Age. Their excuse? Hezbollah, the Shiite militia with around 40,000 fighters. But instead of targeting the militia, they’re going after a whole nation of 5.5 million people, most of whom probably couldn’t care less about Hezbollah.
The U.S. Democrats had managed to keep the invasion at bay for a while, but Netanyahu couldn’t care less about regional chaos. If dragging Iran into the mix is what it takes to get America involved, he’s all in. Why? Because then the U.S. has to get its hands dirty, and Israel can sit back and watch the fireworks.
Israel’s been trying to finish off Gaza before turning north, but that’s taking too long—despite the tens of thousands of dead civilians. The destruction isn’t quite complete, and they still haven’t figured out how to wipe out the remaining 2 million Palestinians. Looks like Gaza is «done for now,» so it’s Lebanon’s turn in the grinder.
And, of course, this is all perfectly timed. The U.S. elections are just around the corner, and no Democrat in their right mind would dare criticize Israel right now, not with that all-important Jewish vote on the line. So, Netanyahu has the green light for his little «distraction» up north.
After a few bombings here and there, Israeli forces have started their ground invasion. What’s their goal? Who knows? Probably to drag Hezbollah away from the border by wiping out everyone in sight—civilians included, because, you know, why not?
In typical fashion, Israel’s military campaign involves leveling entire neighborhoods, taking out a few Hezbollah leaders here and there, and making sure plenty of innocent people end up dead. All to make sure their «collateral damage» is maximized.
The cherry on top? A missile attack from Iran, just to keep things spicy. Israel will probably retaliate, which could drag the U.S. into a nightmare scenario they’ve been desperately trying to avoid.
The bottom line? The Lebanese people, once again, are stuck in the middle of this brutal game, enduring endless suffering while the world watches in silence. But hey, what’s another war for a country that’s already seen more than 40 years of chaos, right?
